Theatre Production Journals

ADD2O/3M/4M

Please answer all the questions in your journal book. Please clearly identify your book by creating your own cover. Be original, be creative, and be fantastic!

Each question is worth 10 marks
15% of your final grade.

Journal # 1           Due: February 23rd

1. Why is it important that the cast and crew of a production work as a like-minded team?

2.  How can our class be a more like-minded team? What would you suggest we do to help create unity for our production of Alice in Wonderland? (Ensuring less cliques, working as one group)

Journal # 2              Due: March 23rd

1. Examine the relationship between the characters. How does that relationship shape the play?

3. What is your character's significance to the play? (If you do not have a character, choose one)

Journal # 3              Due: April 27th

1. Explain how you have contributed to this production of Alice in Wonderland. How have you demonstrated the ability to take responsibility, both as an individual and as a member of a group, when working in a theatre ensemble? (E.g., make artistic decisions, give support to others)

2. Now that you have had some time to see the class project coming together, you can describe the complexity of putting together a production. Remember to look at all of the areas of the production in your response, such as, costume, hair, makeup, dance, advertising, programme, acting, fund-raising and promotion.

Journal # 4                 Due: May 19th

1. Taking a look at your own personal strengths, how have they impacted your successes in this production?

2. Do you think that this class has worked cohesively as a group? What have been our strong points as a group and what are some weaknesses that we can learn from and work on?

3. What has been your biggest learning curve this year? Have you or how did you overcome this?
